Enough is known about the “the why” of sustainability – I like to work in ambitious, motivating and effective ways with “the how”.
I'm sure that effective change starts with engaging people’s interests and energy – wherever in an organisation it can be found. Policies, incentive schemes, performance targets and all those other management systems should support new ways of working, not determine them. In contrast to most, we put people and relationships first, knowing the systems will follow.
I try to ensure I work only with committed people to raise awareness of the possible, explore limiting assumptions, reframe sustainability as positive and motivating, experiment with sustainable change, and do more of what excites and works.

Some Things I'm Trying to Do to Promote Sustainability:
I've struck out as an independent, not least to offer strategy, leadership and change consulting to those who were previously unable to afford my rates when I worked for a consulting outfit.
That includes sustainability coaching, inquiry-based organisational development, action learning, working with real stories of success, stakeholder dialogue and so on.
So many... but definitely read "Bohm on Dialogue" and "Principles of Problem Formulation and Problem Resolution" by Watzlawick et al if you're really inetersted in how people learn and organisations develop.
